Relationship Counselling
Couples tend to refer to relationship counselling when they are finding it difficult to communicate and work through issues of trust, parenting styles, financial problems, separation, intimacy and sexual problems, extra-marital affairs, value conflicts and/or anger management.
Couple therapy aims to assist couples to discuss differing points of view and to identify goals in a non-threatening environment. Over the sessions, couples tend to learn more about their partner’s vulnerabilities and feelings while appreciating their own journey of self exploration.
It is the therapist’s role to facilitate this unique process and to be directive, mediate, offer feedback and open story-telling.
