Approach to Psychological Counselling

Assisting individuals, couples, parents and families I use an eclectic mix of evidence-based approaches from counselling psychology, family therapy and expressive therapy modalities.

I believe that psychotherapy and counselling can help us find ways to integrate the various parts of ourselves that are rejected or unresolved and process emotionally charged experiences which impact on our psychological health, emotional and physical wellbeing.

Therapy can also enable us to take proactive steps towards living a calmer, more authentic, meaningful and connected life, helping to challenge the status quo and find courage to try something different. Psychotherapy offers a possibility to discuss and sound out solutions to existing problems and to strengthen personal relationships, improve your relational skills and capacity for self-regulation which positively impacts all areas of life.

My approach is to help you find balance and harmony both internally and in your external world. I aim to help you to create and nurture relationships, develop self-understanding, try new coping strategies and improve your communication skills from a position of greater self-awareness and intentionality. I hope to assist you, your child or your family in creating more meaning, happiness and inner peace, to enhance your personal relationship with yourself, connect to your dreams and passion, to find contentment and happiness, in order to lead a more joyful life.
