Dr Shaun Delaney


Shaun’s background includes work in business, counselling, clinical and psychiatric settings. He has worked extensively with clients in both group and individual therapy.

Shaun’s doctoral research focused on divorce and the experience of Australian men both with and without children. He draws extensively on this research when working with clients experiencing this difficult life event.

Additionally, Shaun has expertise in the treatment of anger, having developed and run successful programs to help both men and women better manage anger and related emotions.

Shaun utilises a number of evidence-based techniques in his work including cognitive behavioural, solution focused, interpersonal, mindfulness, systems and existential approaches. However, Shaun believes that the basis for all successful counselling is the development of a warm, respectful and empathic relationship, allowing for a collaborative approach in discussing problems, identifying goals and bringing about change.
