  • stress management.

Shaun’s work background includes business, counselling, clinical and psychiatric settings. He has worked extensively with clients in both group and individual therapy.

Shaun’s doctoral research focussed on divorce and the experience of Australian men in situations both involving and not involving children and he draws on this knowledge extensively in working with clients experiencing this difficult life event. Additionally, he has expertise in the treatment of anger, having developed successful individual and group programs to help both men and women better manage anger and related emotions.

Shaun utilises a variety of evidence based techniques including cognitive behavioural, solution focussed, interpersonal, mindfulness and systems approaches. However, Shaun believes that the basis for all successful counselling is the development of a warm, respectful and empathic relationship between him and clients allowing for a collaborative approach in discussing problems, identifying goals and bringing about change.
